* The base line solution (Peter's input paper)
* Discussion on the CPRI mapper (structure aware/agnostic modes)
Discussion:
* Recap
- Jouni gave a short recap of the Louisville FtF meeting and discussions.
- Jouni also reminded about the upcoming FtF in Beijing in June that is
followed by the NGFI workshop. A short description about NGFI was given.
* Discussion on the CPRI mapper and the structure agnostic mode
- Kevin brought up during the FtF an interesting observation whether the
structure agnostic actually means agnostic to "everything" carried on top
of native RoE transport. That would also mean transporting e.g. CPRI L1
as such to preserve its special K-characters (for 8B/10B PHY coding) etc.
The feeling of the room is at the moment that this is the right approach
although not what originally many folks had in mind..
- Jouni commented also that we should evaluate whether the start of
frames should still be indicated in the RoE header (for agnostic mode).
* The base line solution
- Peter went through the text input he had provided for the introduction
and scope. The actual revision looked at during the call was the revision
with Marek's comments.
- Generally both text were OK, no big arguments.
* AOB
- Jouni announced that the evening shift call will be moved to the same
Time as the morning call.
- 1904.3 also evaluates using join.me instead of webex (assuming Jouni
gets the software installed in his IT managed laptop..)
