Dear colleagues, I started working on my action items #12 and #33, associated with the extension of the power saving mechanism to support multi-channel environment of Nx25G-EPON. I went through Clause 10, selected areas of Clause 13 and Clause 14 and made a number of tracked edits, as shown in the attached contributions:
In general, I find the existing power saving mechanism very robust and we just need to add a way for the OLT to indicate to the ONU which of the channel should be powered down, while leaving the details of how this is implemented outside of the spec, following the way the technical implementation details were left out from 1904.1 before. We can also extend the general description, adding 1-2 more examples of ONU operation with multiple channels controlled independently. The existing examples still make total sense when the ONU is controlled as a whole, i.e., all channels and controlled simultaneously. Any thoughts, comments, etc., are welcome Regards Marek To unsubscribe from the STDS-1904-4-TF list, click the following link: https://listserv.ieee.org/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=STDS-1904-4-TF&A=1 |
