Hi Jouni,

Sounds great. I didn't mean to imply that any secret counter was being introduced but just that a non-participant of this group could interpret an undefined field in many different ways. Especially, someone might want to use it to align some specific information to a particular counter value. As IP core vendors for multiple customers, our biggest enemy is an undefined field or the word "may". It is my firm belief that the word "may" should never appear in any specification because it inevitably leads to one company believing something has to happen and another designing for it not happening..

Yasser,

Yes the value is static after initializing it and for the lifetime of the flow.  I should have clarified that. No intention to "secretly" introduce the third counter.
