Kevin,
What would be the motivation to develop YANG models under 1904 instead of in BBF?
I see some reasons to not do it under 1904. BBF already started this work and they are planning to assimilate the existing models from ITU-T and IEEE 802.3. They have a better chance to make YANG models (more) common for EPON and GPON than we can do it in 1904.
The only advantage of doing it in 1904 that I can see is that the 1904 WG probably has better understanding of minute nuances of EPON operation and may make EPON YANG models more accurate. But if interested people with EPON expertise (like you and Marek) contribute to BBF YANG efforts, I think that could produce the best outcome.
Anyway, we should settle on this soon. I don’t want to give BBF some vague answer. Either we want them to include EPON YANG models or we want them to stay out of it.

I am wondering if anyone in this group would support development of a YANG model inside 1904. If this is a possibility, then we should include language to that effect in the response.
